Four arrested after train station stabbing

Four people have been arrested following a stabbing that took place at Manchester Piccadilly station on Tuesday afternoon.


According to the British Transport Police, a  13-year old boy was stabbed near the station’s Fairfield Street car park just after midday.


They added that a 13-year old has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, whilst three other boys, one aged 13 and two aged 12, were arrested on suspicion of affray- they have all been released on bail pending further inquiries.


Detective Inspector Stephen Kite has asked anyone with information to come forward. He said: “We have spoken to a number of witnesses… but we believe there may be other people who saw what happened and are yet to come forward.”


Kite added: “We also believe there were people who had been driving past who may have captured important dashcam footage showing what happened… I urge those people to make contact with us as quickly as possible.”


He said that the British Transport Police would do everything that they can to “bring justice to those responsible.”
