Emergency services have been present at the Salford Quays this afternoon, after a body was pulled from the water, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson has confirmed.

Four people have been arrested following a stabbing that took place at Manchester Piccadilly station on Tuesday afternoon. According to the British Transport Police, a  13-year old boy was stabbed near the station’s Fairfield Street car park just after midday. Lucy Powell has been elected as the new Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, after defeating Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson with 54% of the vote. Powell, who is from Moss Side, Manchester, was elected following the resignation of Angela Rayner last month.
