The 2026 BRIT Awards, the United Kingdom’s biggest annual music celebration, delivered a spectacular showcase of British and international music on the night of Saturday 28th February 2026. For the First time in its 46-year history, the ceremony took place outside London, lighting up the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.

The Green Party has won the Gorton and Denton by-election, with Hannah Spencer becoming the constituency’s new MP. Labour was pushed into third place behind Reform UK, loosing their safe seat of nearly 100 years. The result will increase the pressure on Sir Keir Starmer's leadership after he blocked Andy Burnham from standing, which many believe could have resulted in a different outcome. A Reform UK activist has been suspended over reports of racist and misogynist language used on social media. Adam Mitula, Reform Tameside’s interim campaign manager, confirmed he had been suspended from the party, but claims his comments have been taken out of context.
