
Delays and Cancellations at Newton-Le-Willows station after emergency services attend major incident on the tracks

Train services have been delayed and cancelled at Newton-Le-Willows Station this afternoon, after a male was involved in a major incident on the tracks.
Emergency services including: A police helicopter, ambulance, fire services, police officers and a network rail response team attended the scene.
A witness who wants to stay anonymous said: the man was believed to have been “struck by a train but was still alive.”
It was said by a worker, that the man had been crossing “back and forth” across the tracks, but the accident hasn’t been treated as suspicious.
The male has been taken from the scene in an ambulance by paramedics to get further hospital attention.
The rail teams are working to restore services and are assisting members of the public that have been affected by the disruption.
