GREENWOOD: Trial date set

21-year-old footballer Mason Greenwood appeared at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court today.

He was accused of and re-bailed on the charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

A large huddle of photographers and TV crews stood waiting for Greenwood to leave the court before he was driven away in a blacked-out Mercedes.

He confirmed only his name and date of birth inside Court 1 in Manchester.

The prosecution said it was a complex case that required consideration.

A new pre-trial hearing date has been set for 10th Feb 2023 with the trial expected to start on the 27th November 2023.
