Fury vs Joshua announced for blockbuster bout in Cardiff

Former boxing champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will go head-to-head in their hugely anticipated heavyweight fight, which has been announced to take place on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The British rivals have not faced each other professionally, having previously sparred at the Finchley Amateur Boxing Club in 2010. The Ring’s Mike Coppinger reports that they will now compete for the WBA ‘super’ heavyweight title. 

The announcement ends months of speculation as to when and where the bout will be held. Contracts were signed by both parties earlier this year, but the date and venue were undecided, causing back and forth disputes online between Fury and Joshua.

The fight, a decade in the making, has been described as one of the biggest bouts in the history of British boxing. Turki Alalshikh announced the fight on X, on 24 September 2026. 

“For 15 years no one has been able to make this fight. Back in April, I said that any announcement would come from me. I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans. The time for talking is over” he said.

Boxing fans around the world have been pushing for this fight, which will be available to stream globally on Netflix. The official announcement also confirmed that Fury and Joshua will appear at a press conference in London on 30 September.
