It was a lively start to the game with both teams looking well up for the tie, however it was St
Helens who struck first through Mark Percival and successfully converted by Lachlan Coote
making it 6-0.
Two tries just before the half time break made it 16-0 to the away team with the Red Devils
struggling to create any clear cut chances and breakdown the tough Saints defence.
The home side began the second half with real intent and were rewarded on 54 minutes when
winger Derrell Opherts carried a kick over the line and was given by the video assistant referee.
However, it became the same old story as the second half continued with St Helens dominating
and quickly went further ahead through Regan Grace making it 4-20.
The game was wrapped up late on with James Roby scoring his second of the night making the
final score 4-26.
The loss means the Red Devils remain in fourth position but the Saints have a game in hand over
Salford who have also played two games more than playoff rivals Warrington and Castleford.
